We’re looking for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer in Montano Lucino (CO) Italy location.

The Lean Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to drive the plant versus Excellence extending lean knowledge in the plant, supporting all Category leaders on CI projects identification and implementation. His principal KPIs are: Yearly Continuos Improvement savings and Convertion Cost reduction, trained persons on lean methodology & tools. He must also support and promote the implementation of MES / Industry 4.0 tools.

Main Opportunities and Challanges

He / She Contributes to implement DANA’s lean strategy (DOS) in the Plant, deploying standards and methods in all functions.

He / She Provides support in Lean & CI initiatives coordinating and controlling the plant in their CI & Lean cost reduction projects

He / She is the teacher in the plant of DANA’s lean strategy (DOS) culture and tools to increase the competencies and knowledge of lean.

He / She organizes and supports JISHUKEN (kaizen week) in the Plant and train further Jishuken internal leaders.

By the involvement of the lean category leaders, He / She evaluates periodically a plan of lean approach expantion (DOS Assessment) defining the RoadMap and recovery actions.

He / She develops the training program according with Plant priorities [coming from lean expansion program (DOS Assessment), DOS corporate guidelines or new subjects, CI RoadMap].

He / She develops/uses appropriate business systems to successfully manage and control the Plant in regards to DOS, supporting the plant to meet/over exceed the CI target.

He / She develops data collections to support category leaders in identifying priority projects and coordinating periodic meetings with the Plant manager and /or Dana Management and the category leaders for the monitoring of the CI savings and projects follow up.

He / She is responsible for overall planning and monitoring of projects to ensure targets are achieved within budget and on time.

He / She collaborates with Plant Manager and Business Director in organizing JISHUKEN or WORKSHOP activities to support and boost improvement in the Plant.

He / She takes care to involve all required stakeholders in CI activities [including operators].

Collaborating with other Plant DOS Managers and DOS Regional manager, he / she collects and apply Best Practices from other plants and share Plant Best Practices.

He / She collaborates with Corporate Team for the development and implementation of DANA connected strategy.

Main Responsibilities

•            Analyzes manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

•            Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, equipment layout and tooling design accordingly to the lean production system and methodology (continuous improvement, 5S, Problem solving, Standardized Works, SMED, Value stream mapping, VA/NVA activities, TPM)

•            Develops innovative and effective automation solutions to increase assembly lines productivity (MES, operator guidance, industry 4.0)

University Master Degree in Engineering

Professional background

3-5 years of previous experience in a similar role in a multinational company

Hard Skills

Good knowledge of English, IT tools, Layout 3D and Lean Manufacturing principles.
