We are looking for a PMO for one of our clients for a minimum of 12 months in France (93). 

The WATER department specialises in hydraulic infrastructure, including dams, hydroelectric schemes, water transfer structures, ports and waterways, and operates worldwide. 

The teams develop projects throughout their lifecycle, from planning to operation, including the design, construction and commissioning phases, working closely with national and international customers. 

Working within the Water Division and based in Australia, the PMO Lead requirement will have two main components:

  1. coordination of PMO issues within the HPP project;
  2. cross-functional activities within the WATER department in support of « Workload management » or other cross-functional PMO subjects.

The tasks will be as follows: 

1) Project PMO management, in support of the Project Director (based in St Ouen) and in liaison with the Design Manager and the PMO Coordinator, both based in Australia:

  • Managing and coordinating the PMO team at head office (Planner, Project Cost Controller, Document Controllers, Project Assistant): monitoring the production of each person, managing their workload and updating resource requirements in liaison with the Project Director, organising and leading regular team meetings… ;
  • Ensure the application of procedures and the use of PMO tools;
  • Develop and/or continually improve PMO tools and KPIs (costs, planning, quality, etc.);
  • Training and coordinating team members in the use of these tools;
  • Co-ordinating and analysing the financial aspects of the project, including periodic monitoring of the project’s workload, expenditure and invoicing;
  • Produce workload forecasts using the PLANISWARE tool, and manage the project budget internally by regularly issuing TVMs (Margin Verification Tables);
  • Coordinating and analysing the monitoring of the project schedule, in particular by regularly updating the schedule, analysing delays and defining corrective measures in conjunction with the relevant department heads;
  • Coordinating document management activities, including internal recording and archiving, updating internal tools and the « Deliverables Register » (DDR, etc.), managing correspondence and the process for submitting deliverables;
  • Coordinating the preparation of internal project reporting (in particular KPIs for monitoring progress and meeting deadlines) and external reporting, as well as all PMO deliverables (including monthly reports (« MPR »), planning reports (« Basis of Programme »), deliverables register (DDR), etc.);
  • Assisting with contractual issues, where appropriate, and drafting contractual correspondence at the request of the Project Director;
  • Participating in internal or client/employer meetings on all PMO/reporting issues;
  • Organising internal and external audits, in accordance with contractual requirements;

2) Water PMO support

  • Support for workload management;
  • Assist the Unit Managers in setting up a specific organisation for monitoring workload plans, implementing the Guidelines and preparing monthly reports;
  • Coordinating meetings dedicated to inter-unit exchanges on workload plan management;
  • Contributing to information sharing and communication between units and legal entities;
  • Liaising with the Planisware team of administrators on the definition/adaptation of reports/KPIs;
  • « SPOC Planisware Global Power France »: point of contact and assistance for the entire Power division in France for subjects relating to the use of Planisware, in liaison with the « corporate » team of Planisware administrators;
  • Administrative and workload management of external cross-functional resources;

  • Sector experience: hydroelectric / construction (recommended);
  • Software skills: Word, Excel, Planisware (Primavera recommended);
