Uber engineering is scaling its teams globally. To support this growth, we are building platform teams to ensure that our user focused cross functional teams can continue to operate efficiently and deliver world class mobile applications to its users frequently, consistently and reliably. In Amsterdam, we are looking for technically minded engineering managers that can help us lead these teams to build tools, technologies and frameworks that our engineers will use everyday as they change the world of transportation for ever. You will be having a serious impact on Uber’s engineering practices and the ability to have significant influence in a fast paced company that is truly exciting with immense potential.     

 

Job Requirements

 

  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or similar
  • Previous experience in building tooling and frameworks or having worked in a product oriented team as an engineer
  • At least 3 years experience leading and managing a team of engineers in a fast paced agile environment
  • Excellent communication & analytical skills and an ability to bring out the best in your engineers using continuous improvement concepts.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritise work on a global scale working with teams across the globe
  • Ability to travel to our other offices when required

 

Bonus Points

  • Experience in the areas of automation, continuous integration and build systems/pipelines
  • Experience in organisations with large engineering teams
  • An understanding of the mobile ecosystem across Android and iOS
