Join us as our new Automation Project Manager

 

We are looking for two Project Managers with Electrical and/or Automation technical flair, who has a good understanding of unit operations and an interest in e.g. Electrical installations, Instrumentation and process Automation. We can offer you an exciting and challenging position with good opportunities for both professional and personal development. In the job, you will experience a high degree of independence and can, to a large extent, help shape and challenge the technical solutions, in close collaboration with internal and external partners. You will be responsible for your own projects, making sure that the projects are delivered according to the agreed time, scope, quality, and economy, with a strong focus on safety. For us, it is first and foremost important that you have the interest, and if you are not able to say yes to all the bullet points below, we will jointly make a plan for how we can develop your skills.

 

Welcome to Global Automation – Enzymes Europe

Global Automation – Enzymes Europe is a department in rapid development. We are a number of skilled and dedicated employees who are responsible for executing a large portfolio of exciting capital projects (CAPEX) that support the company’s growth strategy. The employees in Global Automation – Enzymes Europe are characterized by having a large internal and external network. They have a close collaboration with, among others, engineers, craftsmen, operators, maintenance, compliance, steering groups, and project portfolio managers. There is a great deal of technical knowledge and process knowledge in the department, and it is important to us that this knowledge is continuously shared within the department. Where our own knowledge, experience or time is not sufficient, we collaborate with external partners to achieve the best solutions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage capital Automation and Electrical projects to include planning, schedule development, scope preparation, budget development, staffing, design, procurement, installation, start-up, and project turnover.
  • Ensure that capital projects are planned and executed according to the Novozymes project model and handbook.
  • Establish and lead effective automation and electrical project teams and secure high performance when the automation team collaborate with other teams in a project.
  • Collaborate with line of business user groups to assure that user requirements are effectively transformed into project solutions.
  • Select, supervise and coordinate the use of external engineering firms, consultants, suppliers and contractors required for project activities and assure their work conforms to project requirements.
  • Closely follow-up on project performance to assure control of quality, budget, schedule, and safety, and take pro-active corrective actions when required.
  • Prepare regular oral and written reports of capital project progress and status. Maintain the appropriate flow of information and communication to project steering committees and other stakeholders.
  • Perform project reviews for other departmental project managers prior to critical project milestones on their projects.
  • Manage the outsourced project activities of third-party automation system design and programming providers to assure Novozymes standards and quality requirements are met.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to achieve key project goals. Ensure that all stakeholders in the project process are kept up to date regarding the status of all assigned projects.

Screening criteria:

  • Possess as a minimum a B.S. in an Automation and Electrical engineering discipline or strongly related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in a number of areas:
  • Proven successful performance and experience must be demonstrated in the management of capital   investment projects in a processing industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of capital project management processes.
  • Ability to lead automation teams and collaborate locally and globally within Novozymes.
  • Good organizational skills and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Good analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated to pursue initiatives and able to prioritize tasks and time
  • High knowledge in automation processes, and expert skills in NZ automation systems.
  • High Knowledge of the ISA S88 standard, and general PLC structures.
  • Knowledge in NZ installed Automation and Electrical systems.
