Actuarial Valuations Team (Mercer Services)
The Actuarial Valuations Team predominantly works with post-retirement benefits – individual actuarial calculations – as well as Pension Plans complete populations – actuarial evaluations. Our team concentrate on producing high quality data analysis, actuarial calculations and producing reports with the respective results that are shared with those participants or companies.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Requests, gathers, reviews and uploads client data, and assists in the preparation of actuarial valuations, participant statements and/or client listings and performs required financial analyses using proprietary and vended software;
• Reconciles data and assets from previous valuations and prepare summaries of data, assets, and benefits defined in the plan documentation;
• Escalates data or plan questions related to valuations and benefit calculations to more senior analysts;
• Helps prepare government forms and our regulatory documentation;
• Complies with all components of the Standard Valuation Procedures (MSVP);
• Perform actuarial calculations, data and risk analysis and report production;
• Ensure projects are delivered on-time and to the high standards required.
PROFILE
Hard Skills:
• Bachelors or Master’s in Actuarial, Mathematics, Economics, Management, Finance or similar;
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills;
• Advance Microsoft Office skills (in particular a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint);
• Understanding of pension plans is a plus.

• Strong problem solving skills & ability to clearly articulate complex issues;
• Excellent planning and organisational skills in order to prioritise and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks, in order to meet the multiple deadlines;
