Accommodation Supervisor
KEY OBJECTIVES AND ASSOCIATED RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleaning and Housekeeping duties are required.
- Organize and maintain trolley and guest supplies as per standard.
- Conduct daily inspections and co-ordinate work schedules in all areas of the Hotel
- Ensure assignments carried out by employees are completed and that a thorough handover is completed each shift.
- Schedule staffing as per occupancy levels and Business levels including F&B and outlets.
- Deputize in the absence of the Assistant Department Head.
- Develop, guide and motivate associates
- Check Standards of Cleanliness performed by Senior Housekeepers and Housekeepers and assess retraining needs.
- Propose ideas and suggest improvements where felt necessary.
- Supervise staff.
- Ensure adequate par stock levels are maintained.
- Daily inspection of rooms, spot-checking rooms including stay-overs.
- Schedule specialist cleaning projects assigned by Department Head.
- Carry out linen stock takes and inventories.
- Liaise with Department Head on a regular basis in relation to cleaning program and training needs.
- Conduct daily briefing with staff
- Ensure all SOPs are checked and updated annually and implemented
- Ensure efficient running of the Laundry Department and ensure that a ready supply of Linen is always available for Accommodation and F & B.
- Develop skills in Opera, Alkimii,and Computer applications like Word and Excel
- Report potential disciplinary issues.
- Handle customer queries, request and complaints with tact, patience and courtesy; if necessary contact Senior Management if the customer remains unhappy.
- Perform any other duties requested by Department Head.
- Oversee and ensure accurate documentation and storage of Lost and Found items abiding by the year and a day policy.
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS (Mandatory & Desired):
Mandatory:
3 years previous Hotel Accommodation experience.
Excellent Communication skills
Basic first aid, manual handling and fire awareness training.
High standard of verbal and written communication.
Desired:
Higher Level Diploma in Hospitality and Hotel Management
2 years Previous 5 star experience in a similar position is desirable.
Experienced in using Hotel operating systems such as Opera, Micros etc.
