Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have significant experience of working on software development projects in an Oracle Development DBA role. To fulfil this role the Senior DataBase Administrator needs to effectively translate requirements documented by Business Analysts and Project Architects into database applications, transformations and queries. They will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing database systems and handing these systems over to the maintenance team with structured and clear documentation.
They will enjoy opportunities to work on both new and existing projects, working closely with our multi-national team and 3rd party vendors. In addition to having excellent Oracle database development capabilities they will be expected to show strong communication, analysis and problem-solving skills, and have experience working in distributed teams to deliver applications to deadlines. They will be expected to regularly liaise with both the offshore and internal development teams.

• Ability to work closely with application and web developers.
Essential Skills and Experience:
• At least 8 years relevant experience in IT, including 5 years as an Oracle Database Administrator or Database Developer
• Experience of Developing high-performance and high-availability Oracle database applications
• Experience of translating requirements documented by Business Analysts and Project Architects into database applications, transformations and queries
• Experience of Oracle database development including SQL optimisation, complex queries, stored procedures and data analysis
• Experience of Database and SQL Performance Tuning
• Experience of Oracle Golden Gate
• Demonstrated pro-activity in resolving issues and enhancing supportability of database applications
• Oracle SQL and PLSQL developer experience
• Experience of working with multiple Projects implementing their requests within a framework defined by Infrastructure Architects
• Export/Imports/Flashback Database/Backups/Recovery/Patching
• Clusterware/database service based connection models
• Experience of data migration and/ or test data creation and management
• Administering data from multiple Oracle databases
• Technologies
o Oracle 11gR2 RAC and single instance database
o Oracle 12C RAC and single instance database
o Oracle SQL and PLSQL
o Linux
o Oracle Support Service Request handling
o Oracle Enterprise Manager
o Database Resource Manager.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
• Degree in a numerate subject
• Experience of Oracle Multitenant
• Data migration
• Test data creation and management
• Experience of projects using Oracle Middleware products (OSB, SOA Suite)
• Experience in ETL scripting and query optimization
• Oracle certifications would be beneficial but are not essential.
