ONE.COM A/S - Data Engineer
At group.one, we process over 100 TB of data daily – DNS records, visits to websites, purchases in web shops, and much more. We are seeking a Data Engineer to help us to build a modern data stack for group.one. We want to leverage the vast amounts of data that we collect to make better decisions around the company. As a Data Engineer, you will be a central player in the group's data organisation and given the responsibility to maintain and further develop our data platform.
What you will be working on
As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and building flows from various data sources, such as Hadoop, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, to our Snowflake data warehouse. You will also have the responsibility to build and maintain the data modelling of the group’s analytical stack. You will work closely with the data team and a range of other stakeholders to develop data models and pipelines for research, reporting and machine learning.
Development and maintenance of pipelines
- Build, maintain and monitor pipelines, including scripting, scheduling and CI/CD
- Introduce new data sources and align them to prevalent structures and architectures
- Identify opportunities for internal and external data acquisition
- Ensure compliance with group.one GDPR practices
- Support machine learning initiatives by designing pipelines and performing basic feature engineering
Data architecture and modelling
- Further develop the group.one-aligned customer model used across all brands
- Continuously improve and measure the efficiency of our code
- Support continuous development of overall approaches and tools used
Data Documentation and discovery
- Provide documentation on data sources, best practices as well as anonymisation methods
- Provide documentation and version control of relevant code

What we are hoping you are
- Curious of new Data Engineering trends and potential data sources. Be an advocate for best practices and continued learning
- Intelligent and result-oriented, being able to structure your own work
- Experience and/or interest in the open-source community and a skilled Linux user

What we are hoping you know
- Proficient in various SQL and NoSQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake or Hadoop
- Experience in data modelling techniques, and pros/cons for different approaches
- Knowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks including tools like DBT, Airflow, Python
- Confident in scripting, such as Bash or Python
- Confident in version control methodologies and tools
- Experience of data governance, role and user management
- Knowledge on how to build good testing coverage
- Understanding of Kubernetes and/or Docker
- Experience with Machine Learning toolkits, Jupyter, MLflow or Kubeflow
- Experience with restful API
