Gameplay Programmer PC / Console Games

The International Placement Services ZAV is a member of the network of European Employment Services EURES. In collaboration with EURES Portugal is looking for passionate gameplay programmers to work on high-quality character-based action games for PC and console (current and next gen). The company works with both an in-house engine as well as Unreal 4

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to all aspects of gameplay programming from prototyping to final implementation

• Understand, improve and implement the game systems: gameplay features and game logic, character controls, AI, weapons, etc.

• Define technical specifications for gameplay framework

• Work together with game design and animation departments to define and refine gameplay requirements

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of C++

• Strong understanding of gameplay systems, including game logic, character animation, enemy AI, player controls, camera, physics and collision detection

• Degree, not necessarily in computer science

• Passion for games and good knowledge of recent action games (retail and digital download titles alike)

• 3 years of professional experience and at least one completed game to work in game code

• plus: console experience, rendering knowledge, prior Unreal 4 experience

• good knowledge of English

The company offers:

• Wage between (gross) 36000€ and 58000€ per year according to proven skills and experience

• Unlimited fulltime employment contract

• Accommodation will be organized, assistance with visiting public authorities

• Estimated start date: mid-October till end of January
