Job Overview
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Waiter/Waitress is to assist the waiter in providing and maintaining the service standards using friendly and professional service in any assigned venue. To be successful as an assistant waiter, you should be fast, well-organized and always achieve excellent customer service.
A hardworking and dedicated assistant waiter to serve and ensure that all tables are cleared properly as it is essential for a memorable dining experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure that assigned station is properly set up with the required amounts of plates, glassware, silverware and mis-en-place prior to the start of service.
- Comply with sequence of service for food and beverage and follows the lead/instructions of the Waiters to ensure timeliness of service to guests.
- Restock any service/product deficiencies that may occur, to ensure satisfaction of service with guests in assigned station.
- Ensure that assigned station is properly cleaned and set-up at the end of the meal period and that all assigned side-work is complete.
- Offer and refill water, bread, butter and beverages.
- Remove dishes, glassware and cutlery from guests’ tables.
- Preparing tables by wiping up, clearing away crumbs, replacing linen and setting up tableware, napkins and condiments.
- Delivering food and drinks to tables when Waiters are busy.
- Responding to guest requests and informing management of any complaints.
- Assistance to any individual duties as requested by Waiter or Supervisor.
