Production Supervisor
Responsible for efficient assembly of goods to the agreed quality standard, using safe practices
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:
• Day to day management of production lines and associated operators maximising production capacity and resources
• Provide knowledge, motivation support and advice to team leaders and operators
• Responsible for knowing correct procedures for self & operators to follow and ensuring they comply to all good manufacturing practices, in a safe manner
• Self-motivated and encourages team effort, and supportive attitudes between operatives
• Meet required quality and production targets
• When necessary, support your colleagues where required in delivery of the business goals
• When required share your knowledge with new members of the team to support building of succession within the business
• Escalate any concerns you or your team may have
• Report any issues to Quality Department as soon as discovered
• Conduct spot or continuous checks in your area to ensure adherence to customer technical and quality requirements
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain constant adherence to all company, customer and legal requirements regarding food safety and quality assurance
• Maintain quality records and take ingredient samples when required for quality analysis
• Respond to employee queries and concerns in a timely manner
• Ensuring that the highest levels of service, quality and workmanship are maintained
• Assist with scheduling of holidays and overtime
• Drive a culture of excellent adherence to Health & Safety of all employees through the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment
• Meet all targets and measure and review KPI’s in order to achieve business plan
• Work with Insight (internal ERP software)
• Identify Training needs of direct reports
• Deal with employee grievance & disciplinary issues in conjunction with Management & HR
• Motivate, coach and organise teams to maximise effectiveness
• Maintain constant adherence to all company, customer and legal requirements regarding food safety and quality assurance
• Flexibility as you will be required to work as part of rotating team across days, evenings, nights, and weekends
Skills / Qualifications/ Experience:
• Minimum 2 years Food manufacturing experience
• Management experience
• Third level education is desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational skill required and project management experience
• Leadership and People Management Skills
