Ayrton Group have an immediate requirement for a HSQE Manager working with a leading innovative and sustainable engineering company in the Galway region.
This is a 9-month cover position which allows for a hybrid working model, working from the office in Galway and working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuous promotion of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards across the Company.
- Act as a point of contact for HSQE matters for relevant operations, liaising and interfacing with relevant personnel ensuring compliance is met on plans and procedure.
- Provide advice and deal with queries and correspondence on HSQE issues.
- Provide HSQE advice and direction to staff and contractors, liaising with site personnel.
- Report to HSQE Director on HSQE Performance across the Company.
- Promote awareness of customer requirements throughout the Company.
- Develop and implement HSQE Procedures, ensuring that new procedures and/or practices are developed to prevent the same or similar accidents.
- Ensure compliance with current Environmental, Health, and Safety legislation and maintain awareness of legislative changes and industry standards.
- Provide onsite HSQE presence during construction and operations to ensure HSQE controls and mitigation measures are implemented, maintained, and performance monitored.
- Obtain and review safety documentation from clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Carry out site inspections and generate reports.
- Liaise with external parties relating to HSQE.
- Manage the HSQE Department.
- Ensure ISO (9001, 45001, 14001 and 50001) compliance of all offices, sites, and plants.
- Ensure appropriate communication processes are established within the organisation and that communication takes place regarding HSQE.
- Ensure appropriate process measurements are established, adequate and maintained.
- Apply for relevant permits and licences regarding environmental issues.
- Report major incidents to HSQE Director immediately.
- Assign HSQE duties and responsibilities to competent persons.
- Develop and propose safety objectives and targets and safety measurement methods.
- Identify safety training needs and safety training.
- Assist and lead team incident investigations overseeing the HSQE team through reports and action tracking.
- Conduct incident/accident investigations and prepare reports for internal/external purposes.
- Review reports of reportable accidents and obtains necessary clarification or further details.
- Notify the H.S.A. of any reportable or dangerous occurrences.
- Maintain relationships with government agencies.
- Monitor emerging EHS legislation and ensure company is compliant.
- Manage legal requirements and compliance.
- Point of contact for customer and certification audits.
- Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organisation.
- Ensure the compliance and adherence to the requirements of the Standard.
- Facilitate Internal Audits.
- Monitor all forms registers to ensure compliance with procedure, including (but not limited to) Register of NCR’s, Legal Compliance Register, facilitate assigning unique numbers to new documents and projects.

Key Requirements:
- Minimum Higher Diploma in Health and Safety.
- 6 – 7 years experience in a senior position within a large organisation.
- Leadership and organizational skills with ability to influence and motivate colleagues to achieve high performance.
- Highly motivated with a passion for HSQE to continuously improve H&S performance by implementing new and innovative ideas.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Competent user of Microsoft packages.
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
