Copenhagen Local/International Drilling Ref.: MO-056994 Maersk Oil continues to progress into exciting new Deepwater and HPHT environments. In order to support these technically challenging Projects we have a requirement for a “Head of Well Materials Quality ”. This is a new position and the successful candidate will have a well engineering background, be based in Copenhagen and will report directly to the Chief Well Engineer. The successful candidate will lead the establishment of Maersk Oil’s Well Materials Quality strategy. We Offer The position is part of the Corporate Wells team that consists of 18 engineers who are based at Head Office in Copenhagen. The team reports to VP Wells who is the Global Head of Well Engineering, reporting to the Maersk Oil Board Key Responsibilities Visit Maersk Oil’s 7 Business Units and perform a global review of present capabilities. Prepare and implement a strategy for establishing Industry Best Practice in Quality Control standards. Develop Corporate Standards / Guidelines for QC / QA including implementation plan. Guide and educate Business Units to establish their own QA / QC frameworks. Define QA / QC relating to inspection, make-up, assembly & test requirements and verify Supplier, Vendor & Contractor compliance. Develop & Execute Audit Programmes. Keep abreast of industry standards on QA / QC requirement (API / ISO). Participate in relevant API / ISO committees. Implement a systematic approach to the review of equipment failure investigations / NCR. Establish corporate technical standards / procedures to support: •Appropriate pre-qualification of suppliers. •Quality control during the manufacturing process. •Quality control during pre-assembly of (for instance) csg / tbg hangers, completion string sub-assemblies. •Pre-qualification requirement for Suppliers, Vendors & Contractors. Who we are looking for An experienced Materials Quality Professional with a degree in mechanical engineering and a background from well engineering. The successful candidate will have: •A track record in development of material construction and inspection requirements •A track record in performing internal and 3rd party audits. •Expert knowledge of the following specifications: API 5CT, 5L, 14A, 11D1, 14L, 6A. •General understanding of oil field material types, destructive and non-destructive testing such as tensile, magnetic particle, Ultrasonic Testing, API 5CT PSL1 & 2, API 5L. •Skill level in OCTG grades and mill inspections •Skill level in drill pipe connections and inspection standards. •Skill level in reviewing and approving Contractor Quality Plans / Inspection and test plans *LI-AJ1 Maersk Oil is an international oil and gas company with operated production of about 557,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day from Denmark, the UK, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Brazil and Algeria.
