About the job

Partly, you must gain deep understanding of Arla’s Climate Check tool at user level and beyond including LCA calculation principles, relevant guidelines and interpretation of results i.e. what actions can be taken on various types of farms to improve the carbon footprint. You will use this deep understanding to be the Danish climate expert joining farmer meetings, webinars and other member engagement to unfold the climate model in a simple and easy to understand way – towards our member service organization, Danish farmers and key stakeholders around the farmers. You will be a key person to communicate with farmers and farmer networks (e.g. advisors, veterinarians) about their needs, inspiration and experience with the Arla climate tool and climate agenda and take these back to the project teams.

You will also be the agri-scientific partner who – together with our data scientists - helps interpreting our climate check results into relevant farm insights. You will help the wider Arla business interpret the valuable climate data, so that climate data from our farms can be activated in projects, communication and commercialization, ensuring that the messages and conclusions based on data truly reflects what happens on farms and what can be scientifically backed up.

You will collaborate with colleagues from our farm sustainability team, climate specialist, data scientists and not least with our member service colleagues managing the direct farmer contact.

Your tasks

  • You join selected farmer meetings with your member service colleagues to explain the climate tool, model and unfold new results or learnings from our climate data

  • You support our data analytics team and help colleagues from farmer supporting teams and from commercial/communication to interpret the farm climate data and to ensure conclusions and communication delivered internally or externally are robust, valid and reflects the climate data and what actually happens on Arla farms.
  • On special occasions, you join B2B customer meetings to explain our climate data and efforts
  • You inform, train and engage advisors (climate check advisors and potentially also external advisory network) in our climate tool, promoted reduction levers or share new findings/learnings
  • You are involved in strategic farm sustainability projects where you contribute with your technical knowledge and experience within areas like feed efficiency, landuse etc.
  • You are involved in the continuous technical development of the climate tool when guidelines change/update together with our global farm climate specialist
  • You manage that climate checks in Denmark are delivered at agreed speed and quality (climate checks are performed by external partners)

Who are you?

With your great practical and scientific background, you are eager to be part of developing the dairy industry together with our farmer owners, with the stakeholders supporting farmers and your local and global Arla colleagues.

Moreover, you:

  • Bring strong experience from work close to dairy farmers – e.g. advisory, herdsman or other consulting function, and you know what it takes to deliver clear and impactful communication and advise to dairy farmers
  • Have a agricultural scientific background and strong interest in sustainability and skills in biology linked to dairy cows, and preferably greenhouse gas emissions
  • You should not be afraid of quantitative approaches and have a flair for numbers.  Preferably you are interested in greenhouse gas calculations but not necessarily need to bring along experience
  • You are strong in explaining and communicating about complex issues - agricultural science and data - in a (somewhat) simple and easy to understand way
  • Have the ability to work in a highly international environment
  • Speak and write English and Danish effortlessly. Other languages can be an advantage.

What do we offer?

Further, you will enter an agile and global team that works across countries and functions in Arla. We will bring out the best in you, and you will continuously experience opportunities to grow and develop your strengths.

You will be based in our Viby head office and will have to be ready to attend farmer and stakeholder meetings across the country. Working from home is possible to some extent.
