As a founding member of the 'Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs', Telefónica is strongly committed to boosting digital skills, innovation and entrepreneurship in Europe. Telefónica’s concrete vision consist of a wide range of initiatives to empower and train young people as well as to invest in technology-based people, projects and companies in any stage of their lifecycle. To this end, Telefónica has created Open Future – an umbrella initiative which includes the start-up accelerator Wayra; Telefónica’s graduate scheme Talentum; young people’s Think-Big Programme, Telefónica Ventures, Amerigo and CIP Fund. With an investment portfolio of more than 600 start-ups and offices in 17 countries, Open Future helps turn innovative ideas into successful businesses. Additionally, via its Foundation, Telefónica’s has funded a set of ambitious educational and employability programmes to help close the digital skills deficit in Europe which have so far benefited over 30,000 young people.
