Description
The Front Office Department is the main connection point between guests and the hotel as well as other hotel departments. Check ins/check outs, guest requests, concierge services and promotion of in-house activities are all handled here. It influences a guest’s first impressions of the hotel so everything must always be at its very best.
Experience
Minimum Experience of 2 years as a Senior Receptionist or Supervisor/Assistant Front Office Manager and/or Reservationist position within Rooms Division in a similar or smaller operation. Clear progression through the Front Office Structure Essential.
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of Front Desk,Reservations and Guest Services operational procedures.
- Effective influencing, decision making and strong problem-solving skills
- Financial management skills e.g. Opera knowledge
- Ability to acquire and maintain relationships e.g., customers, vendors
- Knowledge of overall hotel operations as the affect department
- Good negotiation skills
- Good presentation and platform skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
- Strong organization skills
- Strong consensus building and analytical skills
- Effective conflict and change management skills
- Good training/facilitator skills
- Knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, supplies and equipment
- Basic legal expertise related to hotel issues
