Your position

At Semco Maritime you will be joining the Engineering team in our Products and Technology Division. The Engineering team that you will be a part of is a multinational and diverse team of skilled and passionate people where all ideas are welcome. The Engineering team is responsible for creating, designing, and developing critical communications systems for the offshore energy industry.

Your tasks & responsibilities

Examples of the systems you will take part in designing and engineering are network systems, radio systems, Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA), weather monitoring systems, etc. and every project is customised for each client depending on their requirements.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

• Participating in Front End Engineering Design, FEED
• Follow-up on subcontractors’ designs, securing technical requirements and interface management
• Programming, configurations, and equipment testing before Factory Acceptance Tests
• Designing and engineering network solutions for our clients which include, network design, cyber security, Cisco programming, general change management procedures etc.
• Working with common database engineering software solutions, PC-schematics, and similar engineering tools
• Supporting and cooperating with other teams such as Telecom Service, the Tender team, and the Sales department

Your profile & qualifications 

As stated earlier, for this particular position, it is not crucial if you have 1, 5 or 10+ years of experience because we will, for the right candidate of course, assist and support you in learning and developing the skills you need to succeed. The most important thing in the right candidate is that you are a passionate and fast learner who is curious about learning new competencies and developing your skills.

You should actively want to participate in teamwork and be proactive in your approach to your work.

To succeed in this position, we expect that you have the following qualifications:

• Degree in electrical engineering, network engineering, telecommunications engineering or similar, but we are open to most technical and engineering backgrounds
• Interest in technology, IT systems and electronics
• Fluency in English
• Experience from working with networks/IT systems is beneficial but not expected
• Experience from the energy industry is an advantage but by no means a requirement

Employment terms:    Permanent position, full time 37 hours pr. week

Travel days:                 Up to 10 days a year of travel for work
