Would you like to work with many different commercial tasks from a contractual perspective with the purpose of optimising a business area within the energy sector?

Join us and become Associate in the Partnerships & Contracts function which acts as negotiation lead on large contracts related to projects within the Thermal Power business unit. Furthermore, Partnerships & Contracts is responsible for handling claims up to a certain limit, and the function is heavily involved in the negotiation and establishment of joint ventures, license agreements, project development agreements and other types of agreements necessary for various national and international projects, including M&A transactions.

The department is part of Thermal Power which has 900 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We own just below half of the thermal production capacity in Denmark and are at the forefront of the development within efficient use of biomass and reduction of the environmental impact through innovative bio-refining technologies.

Areas of responsibility

As Associate in the Partnerships & Contracts function, you will be working with many different contractual tasks within Thermal Power. Furthermore, you will be involved in contracts related to other technologies, eg projects concerning the New Bio Solutions function within Thermal Power. You will provide advice to stakeholders as well as participate in negotiations.

You will work with various other group functions, eg commercial, legal, procurement and technical stakeholders, but also external stakeholders, such as suppliers, partners and others.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

•guide and support the business unit to ensure that the contracts being negotiated and entered into fulfil the needs of the business unit from a technical, commercial and legal perspective

•ensure execution of the various tasks, often within tight timelines

•ensure development and execution of commercially acceptable solutions for both Thermal Power and the client

•prepare material for internal decision-making forums, such as our Executive Committee within Thermal Power.

Your profile

You hold a relevant master's degree or equivalent within business administration, economics or law with a strong general commercial and contractual understanding, especially with regard to construction contracts, joint venture agreements and claims handling. In addition, you have some experience with the executive role in M&A transactions or commercial management dealing with external stakeholders and senior management.

Due to the complex nature of the business, an understanding of the commercial, financial and legal, especially tender law, aspects of various contracts from a general perspective is required.

Moreover, you have negotiation skills and experience and are able to find solutions that are acceptable for both parties. You also have excellent interpersonal skills allowing you to manage internal and external stakeholders up to senior management level.

You have a strong personal drive and an analytical approach to your work. Furthermore, you have a systematic, execution and result-oriented approach to your work. You are able to motivate and inspire people ensuring that we meet the ambitious results and targets defined in our strategy.

As we operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently.
