Fixed Access Network Sharing - soluções de partilha de recursos de rede (Network Slicing) entre operadores virtuais (m/f)
Context
The deployment of next generation fibre networks to the customer's home requires a high investment from the operators. Furthermore, with the constant increase in demand for bandwidth and the appearance of new services, operators seek to maximise the profitability of their network.
Fixed Access Network Sharing (FANS) by several virtual network operators (VNOs) is seen as a solution to monetise the infrastructure and leverage new business models.
Current access network sharing methods are often based on manual methods and usually the differentiation between service packages is done by bandwidth only. This limits the ability of VNOs to provide a differentiated set of services to their end customers.
The main objective of this project is to implement an access network sharing solution that allows an Infrastructure Provider (InP) to share its network with multiple VNOs and where each VNO manages its own "slice" of the network independently and autonomously on the AGORA platform.
Project Objectives:
The AGORA platform is Altice Labs' solution that allows the management of Altice Labs' access network equipment. This project aims to contribute to the development of the VNO (Virtual Network Operator) management solution integrated in the AGORA platform. This solution should contain not only the portal with which InP divides its network in slices assigned to each VNO but also the virtual portal that each VNO will use to see its network fragment.
We also intend with this project to deepen the concepts mentioned in the BBF FANS experimenting and developing a prototype that demonstrates a virtual access to an OLT (Optical Line Termination) slice emulating the behaviour of a real OLT.
