KPMG Luxembourg is seeking a passionate and motivated Engineering Team Lead (m/f) willing to make a difference to our clients, people, and communities.

As a member of the Technology & Data team, you will occupy a key role in the creation to tomorrow’s B2B financial services and you will make a difference thanks to the technical quality of the created software.

As an Engineering Team Lead, you will ensure the consistent work of the Technology Data & Analytics team. You will be in charge of building business solutions by supervising the team’s daily operations as well as reporting accurate estimate-to-complete figures and risk evaluations while respecting defined architecture, KPMG standards, KPMG procedures and market best practices.

Beside the managerial responsibility, you will drive innovation and develop breakthrough technologies.

Main responsibilities:

  • Collaborate, coach and share knowledge and expertise with Technology Data & Analytics (TDA) team;
  • Coordinate and monitor the progress of all development projects by working closely with the Delivery and TDA leads to ensure the alignment with business goals and planning;
  • Reporting by providing accurate estimate-to-complete figures, planning evolution and risk evaluation;
  • Propose proactively ideas for design, solution, architecture and system improvements;
  • Supervise and enrich all software specifications and estimation allocated to the team under the supervision of the Head of TDA;
  • Make sure that functional and non-functional requirements are met upon each delivery;
  • Ensure the highest standard in terms of code quality and readability for the team;
  • Adhere, respect and foster strongly team respect for defined architecture, engineering specifications, KPMG standards, KPMG procedures, internal process, development methodologies/strategies and market best practices;
  • Participle occasionally in product committee and client events.

The perfect candidate has:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent years of experience in a technical position;
  • At least 10 years of a professional experience in Software Engineering;
  • Proven experience in leading development teams with successful results;
  • Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture;
  • Understanding of End-to-End Lifecycle Process and Tool Set;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • High quality organisational and leadership skills;
  • Project management skills;
  • People management skills;
  • Technical plans interpretation;
  • Industry understanding;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines;
  • Creativity in addressing technical challenges/problem solver / analytical skills;
  • Strong written and verbal skills;
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of other languages is considered as an advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of some of the following languages (Java, Scala, JavaScript);
  • Knowledge of some of the following frameworks: (J2EE, Spring boot, Spark, ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS, etc.);
  • Knowledge of key databases system (Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, etc.) and comfortable with writing queries;
  • Knowledge of performance and security aspects in development;
  • Knowledge in Agile and/or Kanban methodology;
  • Knowledge of Computer Aided Software Engineering tools (Team Foundation Server, Eclipse, etc.);
  • Web, usability, ergonomic design skills;
  • Knowledge of testing theory, methodologies, and techniques.
