Director of Quality Control

Following our production goals and ambitions, a new manufacturing plant is about to be opened, thus our company is looking for a new team of professionals. • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001 and boiler-industry regulatory standards (ASME, PED, or local pressure vessel codes as applicable).
• Oversee quality inspection and testing activities throughout the boiler manufacturing process, including material verification, weld quality, NDT (UT, RT, MT, PT), pressure testing, and final certification.
• Ensure strict compliance with welding procedures (WPS/PQR/WPQ) and fabrication standards specific to pressure vessel construction.
• Apply Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects, improve weld integrity, optimize fabrication processes, and reduce rework and scrap costs.
• Implement and sustain 5S workplace organization principles across fabrication shops, assembly lines, and testing areas to improve safety and operational efficiency.
• Establish and monitor quality KPIs related to boiler performance, defect rates, process control, NDT pass/fail rates, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead root cause analysis and drive effective corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for recurring fabrication, welding, or material-related issues.
• Conduct internal audits, coordinate third-party inspections, and ensure readiness for regulatory audits and certification renewals.
• Manage supplier quality programs, including qualification of steel plate/tube suppliers, welding consumables, and critical components.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, welding, and project management teams to ensure compliance with design specifications and customer requirements.
• Ensure proper documentation control for material traceability, heat numbers, NDT records, weld logs, calibration certificates, and quality dossiers.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the boiler shop and fabrication environment.

• Master’s degree in Engineering. Advantage will be given to applicants with a Quality Management degree;
• A minimum of 5 years of management experience of quality control in a production company;
• Leadership skills;
• Team player;
• Excellent Bulgarian language;
• Well trained and experienced in FMEA, TQC, APQP, QSA, MSA, SPC.
