Concept Developer - Next generation of smart textiles

Ohmatex is a leading expert in the integration of microelectronics in textiles. We are looking for an Electronic Engineer, MSc, or an industrial designer with a minimum of 3-5 years experience, who can create new concepts and technology developments for international customers.

Job Description

Your work will span the areas of research, product development and business. You will be responsible for integrating electric conductors, circuit boards and connectors into textile in order to create a new generation of washable electronic products.

Your tasks will primarily consist of:

• Conducting feasibility studies for international customers

• Preparation of design proposals, prototype development and technology clarification

• Interdisciplinary collaboration involving sensors, microelectronics and textile encapsulation

• Establishment of production processes, including identification of and negotiation with suppliers

• Preparation of large consultancy reports in English

You should expect on average 3-5 travel days per month.

Qualifications

We know that smart textiles is a niche area and we do not expect prior knowledge of this field.

As electronics development is a central part of the role we consider it essential that you have knowledge in this area. We also attach importance to your ability to work independently and acquire new knowledge quickly in this complex and continually developing area.

It is essential that you have excellent written and spoken English.
