Healthcare Workers and Vaccinations
Healthcare workers are a high priority for receipt of the COVID 19 vaccine in Ireland. The approach for rollout of the COVID vaccine is that staff employed in patient facing roles providing direct care will receive the vaccine as part of the initial priority groupings and this is already under way.
Newly recruited frontline staff can expect to be vaccinated as soon as practicable after taking up duty and in line with the Government Strategy for roll out.
Information for Jobseekers
Ireland is a great country to live in. It has the youngest population in Europe and the education system amongst the best in the world. It’s a multicultural country with foreign nationals accounting for 12.7% of the total population. Ireland has an enormous amount to offer including an incredibly rich culture, lively people, an impressive outdoor lifestyle to keep you healthy and fit and gorgeous landscapes. And it is the only English speaking country in the EU.
Despite the Irish population over the age 65 rate being the lowest in the EU, the demand for and healthcare assistants for nursing homes and other healthcare professionals in Ireland has been growing in the past years and will be significant in the coming months as we continue to deal with the effects of Covid-19. There are 586 nursing homes in Ireland including over 460 private and voluntary nursing homes providing care to over 25,000 people. They provide a sustainable high-quality care and ‘homelike’ experience to their residents and many of them will be recruiting at this event together with some hospitals looking for other healthcare professionals.
