Let us introduce you our hotel Sassi, the first one built inside the Sassi area (1996) the ancient part of Matera city. Hptel Sassi was built by renovating a large housing complex, partly built and partly excavated, in the neighborhood called Sasso Barisano and located a short distance from piazza Vittorio Veneto, the main square and the heart of the historic city center.

Being located in a pedestrian area, tranquility is assured.

We have 40 rooms, some located in the complex inside the reception, others with an independent entrance: they are located on six different levels and partially connected to the reception, by an internal lift.
The rooms are divided into three types according to their useful surface: standard, junior suites, larger and suites, with private panoramic terrace. All types are equipped with heating, air conditioning, private bathroom with shower, flat wi-fi connection . Some rooms are completely or partially carved into the rock, others with a view and are all different from each other.

The complex has terraces and balconies with a view towards the Cathedral and the Sasso Barisano.
Hotel Sassi has 16 employees and other external experts that collaborating during the years.
