Absalon

University College Absalon is the cornerstone of education in the Zealand region, offering thirteen different professional bachelor degree programmes. Two of these programmes are taught in English, including a Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology, which is offered at the Kalundborg campus, known as Denmark's biotech city. This degree takes 3½ years and includes a 5-month internship.

Kalundborg is located in the heart of a thriving biotech industry, where we collaborate closely with local companies. This is reflected in the student experience through internships, student jobs, company visits, mentorships, and guest lectures. Students get a unique opportunity to witness the industry's development firsthand, leading to excellent job opportunities upon graduation. It is also possible to continue with a master’s degree at institutions such as the University of Copenhagen or DTU in Kalundborg after completing the biotechnology programme.

Absalon was the first University College in Denmark to achieve institutional accreditation, the highest official recognition for quality assurance in higher education. We prioritise educating students with both professional qualifications and social competences to ensure high standards in both the public and private sectors.
