Oracle ADF Developer - Dublin

Version 1 is the first company in Ireland to achieve Oracle Platinum Partner status: the top tier of the partnership programme. We have the largest locally-based Oracle implementation and managed support services capability in the country and a depth of expertise across the Oracle stack including Database, Middleware, E-Business Suite and Business Intelligence. We have built a successful Oracle E-Business Suite Practice which provides consultancy, development and support services to a range of Irish and International organisations.

The primary role will be a senior technical developer for our Oracle Capability. The role is primarily technical though some Functional knowledge would also be an advantage.

We are seeking the skills of an experienced Oracle ADF Consultant with good overall design and development knowledge of the Oracle ADF framework along with good support and skills and experience in areas such as project planning, system requirement and gap analysis, system design and configuration. 

• Modify and maintain Oracle ADF applications.
• Analyse, design and develop new business applications/integrations/services and enhancements to existing work to support the business operation.
• Develop documentation to detail the development, logic and testing processes.
• Recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards
• Programming support of the Oracle ADF environment for multiple clients and versions
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of various teams.
• Proven ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.

What skills do I need to succeed in this job?

Must have strong knowledge of Oracle and Java development tools and in particular ADF 11g.

Technical requirements: 

• Experience with custom ADF development (creation of custom framework extension classes, validators, controller classes, JSF components, extension of ADF framework, etc.)
• Experience with service component based architectures and SOA.
• Experience with declarative ADF development (creation, configuration, and tuning of entity objects, view objects, application modules, bounded task flows, libraries, etc.)
• Optionally SQL, PL/SQL, XML, Oracle Weblogic Server 11g, SOA Suite 11g, Oracle Reports/Forms,   Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 11g, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), SOAP-based web services.
• Must have strong experience translating business requirements and design into technical solutions
• Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relate effectively with different functional departments
• Experience of the TIA Insurance application is an advantage
• Functional experience/knowledge of the General Insurance industry sector is an advantage
• Self-starter. Can take on assignments, driving through contacting the appropriate parties to get them done and escalate when progress is impeded.
• 4-6 years’ experience in developing in either J2EE or Oracle technology.
• Core programming skills needed include Java, JSF, JDBC, HTML, JavaScript
• Proficiency in Java programming specifically for web application development.
