During the MITAS programme you will undertake three job rotations of eight months, in three different departments, in at least two of our international locations. You will be mentored and supervised by Senior Engineers and in-house experts. The programme combines on the job training with technical courses and business skills development, all within the MITAS framework. Read more on the MITAS programme at: http://www.discovermitas.com Key Responsibilities The Electrical & Instrumentation Department handles Engineering and Maintenance of the following systems: • Plant Emergency Shut-Down Systems • Process Control Systems (SCADA) • Fire/Gas systems • Process Data infrastructure • Communication systems • Power supply systems including emergency- and uninterrupted power supply(UPS) • HVAC systems The program will involve some of the listed activities: • Designs and specification of new systems or modifications to existing systems • Participate as technical support to major projects and/or individual project management of minor projects • Review and preparation of technical standards • New technology screening and testing. You will contribute to the common objectives of the department, namely: • Contribute to definition of concepts, develop engineering designs, purchase equipment and assist in offshore commissioning for modifications to existing facilities • Act as project engineer for assigned projects • Provide support and troubleshooting assistance to the production and maintenance departments • Review external contractor/consultant process deliverables and develop and monitor interface design between new and old facilities • Participate in the review and development of commissioning and operating procedures for the new facilities Principal accountabilities will also include: • Comply with applicable safety instructions and other company procedures, both onshore and offshore • Ensure that in all matters safety, economical and technical assessments are made, due diligence is observed and initiative taken to secure the best economical results • Ensure that all information, both written and spoken, obtained in the course of the work is handled with confidentiality • Ensure that the work is carried out in a professional manner and in compliance with applicable contracts, company policies, values and relevant laws and regulations • Actively monitor work progress such that risks and problem areas are identified, reported and solutions identified • Plan and execute assigned projects and tasks • Bring forward suggestions for improvements in time and cost within the areas of responsibility • Identify areas of technical innovation that can improve company safety, profitability or reliability • Undertake any other work and responsibilities as per separate instruction You are expected to: • Expand your knowledge base within your discipline • Grow a relevant network within the organisation • Assist fellow MITAS graduates and colleagues Who we are looking for You are about to graduate or have recently graduated with a (Bachelor, Master, Ph.D.) within Power, Instrumentation, Data- and IT infrastructure.
