Creative role for technically minded Manager of Industry Affairs (m/f) Heating Control Systems Flexible location in Europe (Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Austria or Switzerland)

Being global market leader, Danfoss has established itself as the world's foremost supplier in the product segment of heating control systems. Given our role as a leader in innovation, it goes without saying that we are keen to continue to shape the future of our industry and drive it forward. Do you share our passion for excellence? If so, this is your opportunity to take up a highly attractive role in a central function – with plenty of scope to shape our business and make things happen. You can be located at any of the following Danfoss

Your new challenges

The steady stream of new norms, regulations and standardisation initiatives seen at both a national and a European level represents an increasing need for attention. The onus is on us as a company to make sure we are up to date, to identify opportunities and potential risks as they emerge and to play an active role in influencing developments. As Manager of Industry Affairs for the Residential Heating business (radiator thermostats / valves and electronic room controls), you will be responsible for overseeing this area of our business at a pan-European level.

On the one hand, this will require your input as a technical expert who is fully conversant with heating systems and can also engage in advanced dialogue at a professional level. On the other hand, you will have to be able to perform the role of an industry affairs strategist who can keep track of things in an environment that is politically complex and awash with diverse interests and who is capable of identifying the focal points of action that are of particular relevance to Danfoss. This will form the basis from which to develop the industry affairs agenda for the Residential Heating business and pursue our objectives in a determined manner.

Whether policymakers, lobbyists, industry associations or expert committees – you will maintain a close dialogue and a strong presence wherever business-critical topics and decisions are discussed and made, both at a national and a European level. In doing so, you will ensure that we are always well informed about proposals and draft laws relating to energy policy and that the company's position is communicated to those involved. Your demonstrable networking skills will also be an asset when engaging with units within the company itself, e.g. when teaming up with R&D, Product and Portfolio Management, Sales, etc. You will have to know which information is of relevance to specific departments, in addition to furnishing internal stakeholders with pertinent knowledge, discussing promising strategies and action plans, and initiating measures in key areas. Furthermore, you will act as an interface with Public Affairs colleagues at Group level and will be responsible for ensuring that instructions issued by HQ are adapted and implemented by local units. In summary, you will be the "central player" who coordinates activities and makes sure that all those involved act in concert to achieve our strategic and economic goals.

Your qualifications

•Professional from an industrial company operating in the field of facility and utility engineering/heating technology/renewable energy/energy conservation with an in-depth understanding of technological aspects

•Technical/Engineering degree, followed by several years' work experience in a market-facing role such as Product Management and Sales
