The Applications Team is responsible for providing technical expertise in the support of FEI's Global sales efforts.



The Position



FEI's increasing commercial success, the need for more dedicated application knowledge and quicker technological developments allow FEI to hire an Applications Specialist DualBeam, with strong emphasis on customer training.



Primary responsibilities include the following

* Supporting and training customers after the sale and installation of the microscope. Customer training is primarily scheduled on-site on the customer's instrument, but the candidate has to support in-house training in NanoPort Eindhoven as well.

* Authoring and maintaining supporting training material.

* As the candidate skills evolve, the candidate may participate in product demonstrations, development of new techniques and applications, support to FEI marketing, and assisting with technical and applications expertise in all phases of the sales cycle.



The Requirements



This customer focused position is ideal for a young professional willing to work in a dynamic, international team and to be exposed to a variety of customer application areas.



The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

* Typically requires a University degree (Materials Science preferable). An advanced degree is highly desirable.

* Typically requires experience in a relevant commercial/research/production environment with recent experience in utilizing SEM / FIB microscopy.

+ Excellent, enthusiastic, clear communication skills, both in writing and speech - proven ability to interact with a diverse audience is critical to the success of this position.

+ Excellent customer interfacing and teaching skills a must.

+ Proven ability to interact with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.

+ Ability to travel frequently both within Europe and intercontinentally and possession of a valid passport.



The NanoPort interfaces with nearly all departments within FEI and is an ideal starting ground for growing talent. Opportunities exist for a successful candidate to grow within the NanoPort, for example as a system demonstrator, or within R&D, Marketing or Product Management.
