Basecamp NORD seeks experienced housekeeper

 

Basecamp NORD is a visitor center located in Målselv Mountain Village in Målselv, Troms og Finnmark, Norway. It has an indoor «glamping» area, burger restaurant, café, and pub. In the building you will also find the Visit Bardufoss’ headquarters, and the premises works as a starting point for a lot of exciting activities. 2022 will be an exciting year at Basecamp NORD, with major upgrades and building a spa. Basecamp NORD is operated by Rundhaug Gjestegård AS, a historic hotel located on Rundhaug, about 15 km from Basecamp NORD.

We are now looking for a committed and flexible housekeeper and waiter for our indoor glamping area, restaurant, and café.

Your main duties will be focused on cleaning, housekeeping, waitering, pub service and hosting. Basecamp NORD will be your primary work location, however, in short periods you may be relocated to Rundhaug Gjestegård if necessary.

The position also includes tasks related to the daily operations of Basecamp NORD, like breakfast service, reception, and guiding.

The position is full time and permanent with 40 hours per week. 2 weekends per month and national holidays are required.

The activity at Basecamp NORD is expected to be intensified around the high season, like Christmas, new years, and easter, and work will be required in these periods. The work hours will vary according to season and need.

Our ideal candidate is self-moving and flexible, with experience from other businesses in the service industry. We wish for you to have experience within the hotel or tourist business. You are creative and solution oriented.

Main duties

• Housekeeping

• Check-in and check-out

• Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner

• Seat and waiter guests in the restaurant, and monitor restaurant activity

• Assist the chef in the kitchen

• Assist other operating functions when necessary

• Assist fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships

Desired qualifications and personal characteristics

Our ideal candidate is distinctly service-minded and structured. Previous experience in service professions is required. You are efficient, responsible and have the talent for holistic thinking. You must also:

• Be fluent in English, and communicate well with others

• Relevant qualifications and work experience

• Make appropriate priorities in periods of higher pace
