Job Purpose: To provide warm, friendly and efficient food and beverage service to our guests, ensuring exceptional service standards are delivered and maintained at all times in line with our guests expectations.

Reports to: Bar Manager

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating a warm & welcoming atmosphere for our guests
  • Ensure that guests are greeted and seated promptly
  • Ensure that all guests queries and requests are adhered to promptly and effectively and that exceptional service is provided at all times.
  • Have full knowledge of all menus and service offerings and be able to answer any and all questions that our guests may have with regards to food and beverage.
  • Ability to create and make cocktails in line with service standards and guests’ expectations, with exceptional spirit, wine and cocktail knowledge.
  • Take food and beverage orders promptly and efficiently and ensure that all orders are communicated to the kitchen and bar accurately.
  • Ensure safe and efficient delivery of all food and beverage orders in line with 5 star service standards and expectations
  • Clear, disinfect and reset tables promptly after each service to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, and to avoid delays in seating guests.
  • Ensure the Bar areas are clean and presentable at all times and to assist with any and all additional cleaning duties within the hotel as required.
  • Handle all guest complaints in a friendly and apologetic manner, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times. All guest complaints must be communicated to the manager on duty immediately.
  • Ensure all cash, room charges, float and till procedures are carried out
  • Assist in the preparation, service and duties for functions and/or meetings as required
  • Prepare all back of house service points with regards to expected number of guests for following services, complete service duty checklist and have supervisor or manager check and sign every shift
  • Ensure all guest areas are well maintained at all times.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the hotel management team
  • Ensure that all required duties are carried out including stock management, inventory control & preparation for following services

 

Key Requirements for this role:

  • Experience working in a similar role and/or environment. Preferably in a high end restaurant within the hotel or hospitality industry.
  • Accurate and efficient cash handling skills
  • High standard of personal hygiene and presentation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a confident and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve in a practical and positive manner
  • Courteous and pleasant attitude towards guests and team members
  • Ability to work both independently and part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi task priorities in a fast paced and challenging environment
  • Passion for food and beverage and for delivering an exceptional guest experience.
  • Positive and flexible approach to work. Weekend, Evening, Holidays and split shifts will be required.
