Enterprise Data Architect (m/w/d)

The customer is moving towards Data-centricity, i.e., Data becomes a masterpiece in its strategy execution. At the Data Office team, within the corporate Digital & Data department, they aim at facilitating and driving the entire organization to leverage data as an enabler to achieve its targets (strategic ambitions, innovation or transformation themes, objectives and regulatory compliance). One of the strategic pillars of the Data Office is to lead Enterprise Data Architecture. Together with subject matter experts, Solutions Architects and Systems Architects, they design solid foundations for the Data Backbone that serves the Business.

The Data Backbone consists out of

• a cutting-edge Integration Platform

• Business Intelligence & Analytics (incl. Data Lake) capabilities

• a Master Data Management platform

• a Data Governance platform that encompasses Data Lineage and Data Quality.

The Data Office (corporate) is looking for an entrepreneurial Enterprise Data Architect who will primarily work on Data Initiatives at 50Hertz but also at the mother company in Belgium. It is an opportunity to mark your signature in the corporate Data Management by

• delivering the Data Office strategy

• designing and establishing Enterprise Architecture Blueprints

• designing, validating and improving each blueprint by actively participating in challenging projects and programs

• generating business value

• You align the Business World and the Technology World to reach the strategic targets
• In collaboration with the subject matter experts, you design enterprise data architecture blueprints for data capabilities and enablers that strategically prepare the Elia Group to meet the targets and allow taking advantage of new business opportunities
• From an overarching and data-centric point-of-view, you guide integration, quality enhancement and successful data delivery:
  • Overarching across the Elia Group
  • In the context of data management, overarching by orchestrating data, technology, infrastructure, business processes, people and organization
• You advocate and push adoption of the data backbone
• You create and refine an aligned and commonly recognized Data Domain Map will greatly simplify the ability to prioritize and focus data management, data governance, and data quality-improvement initiatives
• You constitute the Transversal Data Model (TDM) and Canonical Data Model (CDM) to structure business data through a conceptual viewpoint independent of any present realization by real systems
• You drive Proof of Concepts that contribute to evaluating and validating the most suitable option for the Enterprise Data Architecture Blueprint

• designing Solutions and Blueprints as a cross-domain Enterprise Architect
• designing Data Integrations within the Enterprise and with external parties, bridging Cloud and on-premises systems
• establishing best practices, methodologies, frameworks, principles, policies, and processes
• defining Business Domains, Data Domains and/or Application Domains
• designing Data Models
• designing fault-tolerant solutions
• Some experience designing Master Data Management solutions
• Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics
• Language skills: fluent in German AND fluent in English. (both C1 or better)
• Excellent MS PowerPoint and presentation skills
• Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus
• Some experience implementing Big Data and Data Lake (optional)
• developing data-focused products (optional)
