Electrical Technician – maintenance

TYPE OF CONTRACT: Paid - 6 months
NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS: Professional experience in plant and systems maintenance
This role requires complete and autonomous ability in the operation and maintenance of high-power electrical generators, electronic transformers, stabilizers, power factor corrector, electrical and electromechanical apparatus.
BACKGROUND AND ORGANISATION OF WORK
The international electrical technician functionally reports to the Coordinator of the Project and to the Technical Office of EMERGENCY in Italy (HQ). He/she will coordinate, supervise and work alongside the local staff in his/her area of responsibility. A propensity for teaching would also be useful to enable the professional growth of the national staff team members.
He/she will work in close collaboration with the international staff of the project.
He/she will work in the following areas of the Centre:
- TECHNICAL AREA;
- HOSPITAL AREA;
- SERVICE AREA;
- LODGINGS;
- STORES.

DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES
The main duties and responsibilities of the electrical maintenance technician are:
plant and systems maintenance in the hospital and residential areas;
maintenance of the hospital electrical systems;
identification and resolution/repair of electromechanical automation systems;
management and resolution/repair of breakdowns of high-power electrical generators;
MANAGEMENT OF STORES AND SUPPLY ORDERS
The technician is in charge of managing supply orders in his/her area of responsibility, in collaboration with the head technician of the Centre and the Technical Office in Italy (HQ). Close attention must be paid to the management of technical stores, under the supervision of the coordinator of the project.
MANAGEMENT OF LOCAL PERSONNEL
You will contribute to the professional training and development of the national maintenance technicians.

GUIDELINES, PROTOCOLS AND EQUIPMENT
Further information on the guidelines, management processes and protocols relevant to the post will be provided at interview and during the period of preparation for the mission.
The general requirements and conditions are the same as for other international personnel roles.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Technical or professional Diploma in electrical and electronic engineering;
- good working knowledge of electrics and electronics;
- good working knowledge of plumbing systems, and advanced manual skills;
- previous professional experience in plant and systems maintenance, professional installations;
- skilled work involving apparatus with comprehensive electronic circuitry.
REQUIRED AVAILABILITY
6 months’ overseas stay including a period of leave to be taken at the end of the mission in agreement with the coordinator.
