Dietitian wanted for the pediatric sector

The Health Service in Kalundborg Municipality is seeking a dietitian for 20 hours per week starting 1st of February2024.

The position is located in the Health Service within the Children, Learning, and Education Department. The daily work takes place in the Health Service facilities at Kalundborg Health and Emergency House.

The majority of the work involves consulting and advising children aged 3 to 18 with overweight issues and their families at the Obesity Clinic (BOBU). The approach follows the Holbæk method, focusing on the overall well-being and health of the children. The clinic has been well-integrated into the Health Service's offerings and has been operating since 2013.

In the clinic, two health visitors also work, each present one day a week. The dietitian and health visitors collaborate closely on individual families.

The dietitian is responsible for the medical equipment in the clinic and updates the clinic's staff on materials and new knowledge related to children with overweight issues.

There will also be collaboration and consultation with the department's other health visitors regarding nutritional challenges in toddlers and school-age children. Occasionally, children with challenges other than being overweight may be seen in the clinic in collaboration with the associated health visitor.

Another task involves demand-based counseling and support for day care centers and schools in need of guidance on nutrition.

The position also includes a coordinating role for collaboration between Kalundborg Municipality and the Christmas Seal Home in Skælskør. The coordinator is in contact with children both before and after their stay at the Christmas Seal Home.

Therefore, we are looking for a dietitian who:

• Has good collaboration skills
• Possesses effective guidance and counseling skills for both children and adults
• Has updated broad knowledge in child health
• Stays updated and can disseminate knowledge to colleagues and partners
• Has good IT skills
