Rheumatology Physician

Akershus University Hospital (Ahus) is seeking a full-time board eligible/board certified Rheumatology Physician to join our team. The selected candidate will enjoy a busy clinic schedule at our dedicated rheumatology department in Kongsvinger, Norway Monday-Friday 8am-4pm work schedule. This is a great career opportunity to join an existing, high functioning Rheumatology practice with a very strong referral base. There is no call requirement for this position. In addition to the diagnostic workload, other activities include multidisciplinary work. The section has an active outpatient clinic, as well as beds for complex assessments, treatment and rehabilitation (5-day ward). We approach patients by focusing on the whole patient and integrating rehabilitation into the treatment course. Our interdisciplinary basic team consists of rheumatologist, interns, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, social worker, nurses, hand therapist and clinical nutritionist. We also work closely with Orthopaedic surgeons and with Orthopaedic teknicians. The section is approved as group-2 educational institutions in rheumatology.

Requirements for the application:

• Certified qualifications in the specialty of Raumathology issued by the Norwegian Directorate of Health, this includes qualifications and willingness to fill the role as on-duty senior physician
• Foreign applicants may apply, with the requirement that they obtain Norwegian medical authorization and certification in the specialty of Raumathology surgery before joining the position  
• Applicants who do not speak Norwegian, Swedish or Danish must acquire such skills within 24 month following their appointment and must be fluent in English in the interim period
