National Oilwell Varco Inc. is a global, expanding and innovative company. We established an Engineering office in Lisbon and are therefore seeking to appoint talented engineers. NOV Portugal, which is a subsidiary of National Oilwell Varco Norway shall have 100-120 skilled engineers by the beginning of 2015. The workplace will be at our office in Lisbon, working with our divisions in Norway.

Mechanical Design Engineer

We wish to reinforce several of our mechanical groups on the design side and are therefore seeking qualified and talented Mechanical Design Engineers for our new office in Lisbon. We are looking for those who can work independently, whilst at the same time maintaining close contact with product and mechanical engineering managers. First and foremost we are looking for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers; however, newly-qualified candidates are also welcome to apply.

Work assignments:

• Detail design in Autodesk Inventor, in accordance with NOV’s guidelines;
• Drafting of complete project-specific drawing packages for production;
• Technical clarifications with workshops/sub-contractors/sites.

Qualifications and skills:

• Engineering education (Master);
• Experience with mechanical design will be an advantage;
• Experience of using 3D design tools such as Autodesk Inventor or AUTOCAD will be an advantage;
• Good communication skills, structured approach, be flexible and quality-conscious;
• Good written and verbal presentation abilities in Portuguese and English are required;
• Personal skills/profile will be emphasized.
