We are seeking an experienced Solar PV Designer to join our growing engineering team, responsible for the design and optimisation of utility-scale solar farms and commercial & industrial (C&I) rooftop/ground-mounted solar projects. The successful candidate will play a lead role in developing technically sound, cost-effective, and compliant PV system designs from feasibility through to construction, assisting in establishing and leading a broader design team required to support a strong pipeline of projects.
This role requires strong technical expertise in PV system design and knowledge of Ireland and UK grid connection standards, the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities and leadership experience in developing and mentoring team members.
- Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related discipline.
- 5-7 years’ experience in solar PV system design (utility-scale and/or C&I).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, SketchUp, or equivalent tools.
- Strong knowledge of Irish, UK and EU electrical standards, grid connection requirements, and construction regulations.
- Experience preparing single line diagrams, protection schemes, and cable sizing calculations.
- Understanding of SCADA, monitoring systems, and energy storage integration (desirable).
