Berry Farm worker - Berry Farm Hussola
Berry farm workers for seasonal work in North Savo, Finland
Marjakartano Hussola is looking for three seasonal workers for our berry farm for 5 to 6 months. Work starts in the beginning of April. During season we have approximately 25 employees.
Our farm is located in Karttula, North Savo area. We grow strawberries in open field and in green houses. We have also black and red currant, highbush blueberries, and honeyberry.
Work is physical and takes place outside. Tasks are versatile. They include for example:
-Lifting and lowering of greenhouse covers
-Transfer and packing of picked berries
-Removal of winter protection in spring and installation in autumn
-Packing and transfer of the collected berries
-Lawn mowing
You will be introduced to all work tasks. There is a possibility to continue in the same tasks in the following years.
We expect from you:
-Finnish or basic English language skills
-Hardworking attitude and energetic and self-motivated approach to work
-Ability to work independently and teamwork skills are both important.
-Driving licence B is absolutely necessary
Accommodation:
There is a possibility to accommodation. Accommodation is organized in group rooms. Last summer's price was €4.85/day (incl. electricity, water, heating).
Working hours and salary:
The working time is approx. 40 hours/week. Salary in accordance with the collective agreement on Rural industries. Last summer the hourly wage was 9 e/h. Next summer's salary is not yet known. This collective agreement is valid until the end of January 2023. You will hear the updates during the application process before the work starts.
