Our teams develop both hardware and software solutions for the Concept_One and C_Two as well as for numerous public and confidential projects, thus positioning Rimac as a leader in the development and production of high-performance EV technology solutions.

The Battery Test Engineer in Safety requires a dependable and methodical Engineer for our R&D team who will find and evaluate the performance (safety, thermal, mechanical) of our cells, modules and packs, as well as of prototypes and test concepts for the next generation of battery technology.

 

 

1. Responsibilities:

• Researching, acquiring and validating materials and technologies to improve battery safety

• Designing test specimens and test fixtures

• Technical drawings and production documentation

• Preparing and testing batteries of various sizes

• Operating test equipment to obtain thermal, electrical and mechanical data

• Filling out documentation as part of test sample preparation and testing

• Organizing test data into databases

 

 

2. Main tasks:

• Researching, acquiring and validating materials and technologies to improve battery safety

• Testing battery cells safety mechanisms and characterizing the behavior of cells at various conditions of abuse

• Designing, developing, releasing and building fixtures and tools for testing

 

 

3. Requirements:

• Knowledge of CAD software (preferably Catia)

• Good knowledge of MS Excel

• Good knowledge of Lithium-ion based battery cells, especially on the safety and dangers of lithium-ion batteries

• Good electrical knowledge

• Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) is essential

• A communicative team player

• Dependable and methodical (strict attention to detail)

• Self-organized and goal-oriented

• Bachelor's or higher degree in the relevant field of study

• At least 1 year of professional experience

 

 

4. Considered as an advantage:

• Experience in testing and working with lithium-ion batteries

• Experience in the calibration of test equipment

• Good knowledge of battery reliability and abuse testing standards (IEC 62660/ISO 12405)

• Good knowledge of the EV homologation regulative (ECE R100)
