Providing health care and nursing services by ensuring medical assistance, preparing and administering prescribed therapy, and organizing medical supplies; participating in and performing demanding nursing procedures within the healthcare process as instructed by the head of the department; performing less demanding medical-technical procedures as instructed by a physician; collecting samples for laboratory testing; recording and reporting changes in residents’ condition; preparing residents for various examinations within or outside the facility; managing emergency situations during independent work; performing post-mortem care, requesting a coroner’s examination; supervising and assisting in feeding residents with swallowing difficulties, as well as feeding residents through a feeding tube; cleaning, disinfecting, and preparing instruments and materials for sterilization; assisting in occupational therapy and recreational activities of residents; maintaining records and documentation; mentoring students and trainees, and assisting in the orientation of newly employed staff; providing health education and counseling to residents and their relatives; reporting equipment malfunctions to responsible personnel; assisting in the admission and transfer of residents; performing work tasks within professional competencies and in accordance with the activities of nursing care and assistance in social welfare institutions; participating in events organized by DSO Kamnik; assisting in the onboarding of new employees; and performing other tasks as assigned by superiors.
- Secondary healthcare vocational education
- Professional examination for workers in the healthcare sector
- Registration in the professional register in Slovenia
- Knowledge of gerontology and psychology of the elderly
- Good communication skills
