Downstream process engineer

Are you looking for a role where you have the possibility to use your experience in industrial biotechnology to take charge of pilot productions for costumer trials, screen and implement new equipment and perform experiments to optimize our processes.

Unibio has developed a sustainable technology to produce protein. This technology is based on fermentation using methane as a raw material. With it, we can avoid overfishing the oceans and clearing the rainforest to grow soybeans. We have considerable interest from investors, who want to establish production in different countries around the world and expect to commence several projects later this year and next.
Your tasks
- Daily support of the downstream process.
- Plan, execute and document pilot scale downstream experiments to optimize the protein of the future.
- Drive downstream equipment trials to determine optimal line design.
- Physical presence in the process, and a drive to engage with operations of the downstream line.
- Be part of process design and qualification on factories around the world.
- Process support for new factories.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners.
About the Position
We are looking for a candidate, who both like to be at the forefront of technical solutions within industrial scale protein processing and purification and like to execute experiments to implement new processes and develop new product types. You will also perform day-to-day task related to optimization and standardization of the current production line You need to be self-driven and versatile- at a fast-growing company, priorities can change rapidly and it is crucial that you thrive in this type of work environment.
Unibio Innovation Centre in Kalundborg has a dual function within the company, as we switch between technology development projects and test the production of new products.

Your workplace will be in Kalundborg with the opportunity to work some days in our head quarter in Roskilde. In this position you can expect up to 30 travel days per year in relation to support new factories.

Your background
- An education within process/chemical/biochemical engineering or similar.
- Previous experience within industrial scale biotechnology, the dairy industry or similar.
- Be self-driven and with an ability to work independently.
- Experience as a project manager within the above fields will be a plus.
- Data-driven and analytical mindset.
- Proven track record of the ability to handle the shifting agendas in a developing company.
- You can communicate fluently in written and verbal English and preferably Danish.
