We will challenge you to build truly massive data visualization on the web. Our visualizations are driven by terabytes of daily streaming data. Our dashboards are a canvas for decision making and incident management across security, log management and observability. We have a good basis, but there is much more to do. You can help us create truly interactive visualizations for visual analytics. You will be challenged with making our visualizations performant, snappy and beautiful even as data keeps growing. We’ve taken off on an exciting journey, and we are looking for a Data Visualization Engineer who shares our appreciation for great usability and delightful interaction. We’re looking for a colleague with fantastic software development skills, great compassion for customer challenges, and a desire to build best-in-class UI and data visualizations for log management and observability. We get excited about smooth and intuitive transitions. We love jaw dropping design elements. We need you who values the look and feel of an interactive dashboard that visualizes data in any form. To make a long story short - you will be the one to sprinkle awesomeness on top of it all, seeing details and possibilities others don’t.
Your responsibilities
- Develop interactive visualizations of massive data in Elm/Vega
- Implement UI features in Elm/Tailwind
- Good development practises like code review and tests
- Participate in feedback sessions with customers
Your background
- MSc in Computer Science, IT engineering or similar relevant experience
- Preferably 3+ years of software development experience building web applications
- Experience programming for web in e.g. Javascript, Typescript or similar (Elm experience not required)
- Experience using frameworks like React, Angular or similar (Elm experience not required)
- Experience building web based visualization in Vega, D3, Highcharts or similar
About the team
You’ll find yourself working in a team characterized by creating beautiful and innovative solutions. You’ll enter Team One where we continuously work to improve and develop the Humio product experience, currently focusing on workflow improvements on our search page, as well as a new generation dashboard visualization. We work in teams of 6-8, who have a high degree of autonomy to decide how we want to work. Performance and robustness of our application is key and quality in our Elm code base is essential to an evolving product. The team collaborates closely with our customers to ensure the solution meets their wishes and provides a great user experience. We like to proactively solve customer issues before they even notice the issues.
