OJ Electronics, an innovative producer of underfloor heating solutions and HVAC drives and controllers, is looking for a software engineer with experience in cloud-software development to join the floor-heating section of our diverse, ambitious and successful R&D department.

Together with colleagues in R&D and across other departments, you’ll be developing cloud-related solutions (backend, mobile app, web) for our thermostat systems. Pushing ahead with technologies like IoT connectivity, home-automation protocols and scalable cloud architectures, you’ll work every day to keep our products ahead of the pack.

You will build cloud-based systems and apps across their product lifecycle – from initial concept to deployed cloud services and mobile/web application. You’ll work with UX designers, embedded developers, and hardware engineers to deliver complete, connected products and solutions that make a difference for people’s everyday comfort and for the environment.

In this position, you will report directly to one of our software R&D managers.

 

Your role

At OJ, you’ll be expected to:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud services and APIs in C# and .NET
  • Develop and optimize web and mobile applications in C#, .NET and React.js
  • Maintain code quality through refactoring and unit and integration testing
  • Work closely with UX designers, embedded SW developers, product managers and project managers
  • Take part in agile ceremonies (scrum, code reviews, backlog refinement) and contribute to team knowledge-sharing

 

Must-have qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s or AP degree in computer science, or similar
  • Work experience at a similar company or in a similar industry
  • Strong proficiency in C#, .NET and object-oriented programming
  • Solid understanding of cloud systems and distributed architecture
  • Experience with .NET mobile frameworks (e.g. Xamarin / .NET MAUI) for Android and iOS, and MvvmCross
  • Experience building and integrating REST APIs, web and mobile app backends
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies (React.js, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience writing unit tests and automated test pipelines for scalable systems
  • Proficiency with Git (Git Flow) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar)
  • Structured problem-solving, debugging, and documentation skills
  • Clear and concise technical communication in English
  • Team-oriented mindset and experience working in agile development environments
  • At least 3 years of professional software development experience

 

Nice-to-have qualifications

  • Database experience with SQL (MS SQL / PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (Entity Framework)
  • Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud hosting
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with messaging and event-driven systems (RabbitMQ, SignalR, gRPC)
  • Caching, search, and performance optimization with Redis and Elasticsearch
  • Knowledge of home automation protocols and IoT ecosystems
  • Experience with Scrum and other agile methodologies
