During the event, you'll have the chance to meet Latvian employers and discuss job opportunities, listen to presentations, and get advice from experts about living and working conditions in Latvia.
The event is also focused on Latvian citizens living abroad who are considering a return to Latvia.

Dear Employer,
Take the opportunity to find a qualified and motivated employee on the online job day "Job and Career in Latvia"!
Start registering the company's vacancies now and receive applications from potential job candidates. Agree on the time of the job interview with the selected candidates and save it on your profile. On the online day of the event, October 18th, from 14.00 until 16.00 Latvian time (13.00 – 15.00 CET), employers are invited to provide additional information to jobseekers about the company and job opportunities through the platform online tools.
Participation in "Job and Career in Latvia" will be available online via any computer or mobile device with an internet connection.
Jobseekers will be able to familiarise themselves with your company's information, job offers, and presentation materials before the event and also on October 18th, thereby encouraging them to apply for your vacancies.
Also, on October 18th, any jobseeker will be able to listen to presentations online and receive expert advice on job and business opportunities in Latvia, labour law, social security, tax, and other issues.

Information for non-EU nationals
Applying for job vacancies:
If a vacancy on the platform is published only in the Latvian language, that means appropriate Latvian language knowledge is necessary to apply for the vacancy.
If a vacancy is published in English, then the vacancy is intended also for international job candidates.
Conditions for the employment of non-EU nationals:
Please note that non-EU nationals may be subject to additional requirements for entering the European labour market.
Employment of non-EU nationals in Latvia is based on working visa or residence permit with the right to work. This permit is mainly available to skilled professionals or seasonal workers in business sectors where there is a shortage of local labour force.
If you have found a suitable job offer, you usually need to send your CV and application to a potential employer. If the employer is interested to offer you a job, then the next step is to agree on working conditions and possibilities to proceed with the documentation for the employment. The company which agreed to employ you need to confirm employment invitation at the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA). Once the employer’s invitation is approved, you will be able to submit documents to the OCMA for receiving employment visa or temporary residence permit.

Thank you for joining the Job and Career in Latvia event, taking place online on October 18th, 14.00 until 16.00 Latvian time (13.00 – 15.00 CET).
To get the most of this event, you should:
- Improve your profile / CV
Pay attention to your language, technical or soft skills, as well as educational fields. You can add your picture and if you have one, your Skype account ID. If you haven't done so yet, we strongly advise you to have your CV uploaded in English or have it retrieved from the EURES portal. You can as well add your LinkedIn profile or any online portfolio.

- Apply for jobs & confirm your attendance to interviews
There will be plenty of jobs waiting for you on the platform. Browse through these vacancies and apply as soon as possible to those matching your skills and expectations. Uploading your CV is not enough; the employer can only view your profile/ CV when you apply for their jobs.
Companies may also invite you for one or more online interviews to take place on the event day.
In case you are pre-selected, you will get a notification by the employer(s) on possible time slots for the interview, to which you should answer as quickly as possible.
If you have already applied, you might have some invitations pending your confirmation. Please check regularly.
Applying for a job and scheduling a job interview as a jobseeker
- Prepare for the interview(s)
In order to better prepare, you should thoroughly research available information on the participating companies, their main projects and recruitment needs. Select the companies you want to approach, or who have invited you for an interview, identify the questions you may want to ask and try to anticipate possible questions from the employer. A cared personal look is important (even if the interview is online) and a good level of English combined with a positive attitude, will prove highly beneficial. Please make sure, ahead of the day of an online interview, you have access to:
- PC, laptop, tablet / iPad or another mobile device plus a headset with a microphone and a webcam;
- a stable internet connection;
- Take advantage of the programme
It would be best if you also tried to take full advantage of the programme to be streamed on the event day. Select the presentations of interest to you, watch and interact via the open chat.
- If you don't have any pre-set interviews...
On the event day, you can still make exploratory contacts with employers and get advice with info points on different services supporting your job search or mobility project by joining the one-to-one Live Chat.
- If you're not an EU/EEA or Swiss citizen...
Please bear in mind that, while you may participate in this event and use the www.europeanjobdays.eu platform for job search and meet employers, you will still have additional legal obligations and administrative procedures to go through to get access to the European labour market.
We advise you to check beforehand for additional information:
• the basic EU labour market accessing principles for different non-EU country nationals,
• the EU Immigration Portal,
You should also be aware that employers may decide not to go through your application, due to the expected length of immigration procedures related to your hiring.

Atlasiet uzņēmumus, kuriem vēlaties pievienoties vai kuri ir uzaicinājuši jūs uz interviju, sagatavojiet jautājumus, kurus vēlaties uzdot, un mēģiniet paredzēt iespējamos darba devēja jautājumus. Ņemiet vērā, ka, lai gan pasākumā piedalīsies Latvijas darba devēji, intervija var norisināties latviešu, krievu vai angļu valodā. Vienojieties ar darba devēju par intervijas valodu.
Rūpīgs personiskais izskats ir būtisks, ja intervija notiks videorežīmā. Tāpat pareizas valodas lietošana un pozitīva attieksme ir svarīgas veiksmīgai intervijai.

- Pirms tiešsaistes intervijas, lūdzu, pārliecinieties, vai jums ir piekļuve:
