Talent Coastline - recruit and retain

Talent Coastline is an ecosystem of actors working towards the availability of skilled international labor in Ostrobothnia and Central Ostrobothnia in the western coast of Finland. In the ecosystem we promote attraction and retention and streamline international recruitments, i.e. implement the objectives of the national Talent Boost program.

Talent Coastline provides stakeholders, employers and international talents with information on current issues, events and networks related to international recruitment and compiles ongoing projects promoting the employment of international experts in the region.  
 

Ostrobothnia and Central Ostrobothnia are known for a strong tradition of entrepreneurship and export industry. The energy sector is well represented in the whole area and the investments in the green transition by 2030 are expected to be substantial. The city of Vaasa is the home of EnergyVaasa, the largest energy technology hub in the Nordic countries and a world leader within different technologies, such as smart electrical solutions, sustainable energy, flexible power generation and digitalization. The city of Kokkola offers companies an international operating environment with excellent logistic connections. The strategic top industries in the Kokkola area are chemical industry, clean tech, bio economy, boats and services, including RDI activities that support the business sectors. 
 

The region is very international in atmosphere but also when it comes to its population. The area is bilingual: of its approximately 240 000 inhabitants, 54 % are Finnish-speakers, 39 % Swedish-speakers and 7 % of the inhabitants, coming from over 120 different countries, speak one of the almost hundred different languages represented in our region.
 

Here you can immerse yourself in the nature, visit the Kvarken Archipelago – the only UNESCO heritage site in Finland – and enjoy the fascinating culture and history of the western coast of Finland. The region is easy to reach by car, bus, train and plane - welcome!
