We Are Looking for a Wine-Savvy Restaurant Manager

In the middle of impressive fjords and hilltops at Helgeland, only 25 minutes from Mo i Rana, you will find Utskarpen - an internationally recognized and award-winning culinary destination. This wonderful place is unlike anything else, where farmers and chefs work side by side to create fantastic food and dining experiences.

Our team

We are a small team of passionate individuals who strive to make the best experience for our customers.

Owner and head chef Marius Martinsen has experience from several high-end Oslo restaurants, including Michelin restaurant Haga. He will always ensure the team aims for quality and unique experiences for our guests.

We have apprentices and colleagues in housekeeping, breakfast, service, and kitchen. Every part of our organization is equally important. Hence our team is dynamic and helps wherever needed.

The Restaurant

Beautifully located right on the lakefront, this charming hotel offers one of Norway's top dining experiences. Our herbs, tomatoes and cucumbers are grown at our organic fields, and all products are selected and handpicked by Marius from local producers.

Selected days, the chef offers a 17-course menu, "from field to table," a rare and unique homemade gastronomic experience.

About You

As our new Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role in developing our restaurant experience further. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Further developing the wine cellar in collaboration with Marius and Elise.
  • Creating wine pairings and non-alcoholic alternatives for the menu.
  • Planning aperitifs, digestifs, and other beverages suited for fine dining.
  • Training service staff and building a strong extra team.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as cash register operations, inventory control, and cost management.
  • Checking in and out overnight guests of the restaurant.

We are searching for someone who is passionate about hospitality, highly knowledgeable about wine, and eager to create memorable experiences for our guests. Formal education is not required, but solid wine expertise and a passion for quality are essential.

  • Work schedule: 4 days per week, primarily evening service, with some daytime shifts.
  • Start date: Ideally mid-May, no later than May 20, 2024.
  • Duration: June to December 2025, with the possibility of extension and permanent employment.
  • Conditions: Competitive salary and a full-time permanent position (100%).

Both Elise and Marius are trained chefs, and passionate about delivering excellent products to our customers. Before we moved to Utskarpen and established "Til Elise Fra Marius" we both joined
"The Norwegian National Chef Team" and worked at culinary restaurants such as Kulinarisk Akademi, Restaurant Oro and Haga Restaurant, among others.

Now we are excited to welcome new members to our team.
