We are offering an apprenticeship as a metalworker (m/f/d) – specialising in structural engineering – starting on 1 September 2026.
Metalworkers specialising in structural engineering manufacture, assemble and maintain steel and metal structures.
This is a 3.5-year recognised apprenticeship in the skilled trades.
During your apprenticeship, you will learn about the following areas of responsibility, amongst others:
how to select tools taking into account processes and materials, and how to sharpen tools according to their intended use
what to look out for when inspecting workpieces using angle, limit and thread gauges
how to determine and adjust machine settings, and how to select and apply coolants and lubricants
how to read and apply technical documentation, e.g. operating instructions, catalogues and parts lists
how to clean, maintain and protect equipment from corrosion
how to join different materials using screws and rivets
how to tack components and assemblies, and how to weld sheet metal and profiles
how to document materials, spare parts, working hours and technical tests
how to draw up test reports, document technical findings and evaluate them
how to assemble and test hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components
how to assemble and dismantle facades, walls, ceilings and roofs
what needs to be taken into account when manufacturing metal or steel structures
how to read and apply construction drawings
You should have at least a secondary school leaving certificate.
