About the position

This position is based at our head office in Aarhus in one of Systematic’s businesses within the Defence area. In the position as Test Engineer, you will be joining a well-established programme with approx. 40 highly skilled colleagues who work closely to ensure high-quality products for Systematic customers. The SitaWare Mobile program consists of five cross-functional teams in Aarhus, Denmark, and Bucharest, Romania. Each scrum team comprises Developers, Testers and a dedicated scrum master. In this team, you will experience close collaboration and a high level of mutual support to ensure the best possible quality in our development processes and the final product. As a Test Engineer, you are a crucial part of the development process as testing is incorporated from the early stages of development and throughout the entire process. This ensures a high-quality product that supports end-users in making effective decisions in critical situations.



As a Test Engineer in Defence, you will become part of a strong and unique network consisting of 25 Testers and Test Managers, organised under one Test Project Manager in Defence, and providing you with an outstanding opportunity to engage in knowledge sharing and sparring with colleagues from across the business unit. In addition, you will be able to join our knowledge network centred around disciplines related to testing. Within the network, you will also be able to bounce ideas with Testers and Test Managers from other parts of our business.

Responsibilities and tasks

As a Systematic Test Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring high quality in developing and maintaining mission-critical software products. You will work in close collaboration with your development team, which seeks to ensure that the right level of quality assurance is being integrated into our products. You will be responsible for providing early test designs that set the framework for feature tests and risk assessment and decide what will be tested and when. Furthermore, you will follow the development process closely and continuously engage with the Software Developers on your team to understand customer requirements. Together with your team, you will deliver high-quality features and run continuous risk assessments of the overall product quality throughout the implementation phase. The release cycle culminates with system tests that include regression tests of our applications, where you will participate and play a key role.

You raise the bar for quality assurance, and your daily tasks will involve:

  • Ensuring a high level of test quality throughout the complete feature process.
  • Early test involvement in our development process in cooperation with our system engineers.
  • Create test design and test cases and be part of risk assessments.
  • Participate in all test activities such as system tests, field tests, bug hunts etc.
  • Be an active part of the automation process.
  • Support the development and maintenance of our test environments.

Minimum qualifications

  • You either hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree or have a relevant career within quality assurance. If you have experience from the military and working with C4 products, this also qualifies.
  • You have a proactive, goal-oriented mindset and can work in an analytical and structured manner.
  • You are outgoing and interested in building solid relationships with your colleagues through close collaboration.
  • You are quality-conscious and ready to speak up if the quality is compromised or improvements can be made.
  • You have a flexible mindset, expecting many changing areas of responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are fluent in English and thrive in an international working environment.

Preferred competencies

  • Technical background within software development or similar.
  • An ISTQB certification or TMap certification.
  • 3-4 years of experience working with software testing.
  • An interest in or some experience of working within the military domain.
  • Your technical insight relates to both software and hardware components.
  • Experience working within some of the following areas:
    • Robot Framework, JIRA/XRay, test design techniques or scrum.

Practical information

  • You can expect 5-10 days of travel each year to our office in Romania to visit your team colleagues.
