We are partnering with a well-established organisation seeking an experienced Supply Chain Buyer Planner to join their centralised supply chain function. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, commercially minded professional who enjoys owning both procurement and planning activities, and who thrives in a fast-moving operational environment.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely, cost-effective supply of materials and services across multiple locations. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible and influential position within a growing business.


Key Responsibilities

Planning & Inventory Management

  • Take ownership of end-to-end planning activities within the supply chain function.
  • Maintain accurate inventories to meet operational and project requirements.
  • Review schedules, forecasts, and project commitments to plan material needs effectively.
  • Monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishment, and prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Analyse planning data to identify improvements and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support financial planning and budgeting through accurate cost forecasting.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Lead day-to-day purchasing activities for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, compare quotations, and secure best-value bids.
  • Track requisitions, contracts, and order status to ensure timely fulfilment.
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm shipping details, manage lead times, and resolve delivery issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct performance reviews.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to support cost savings and strategic goals.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Stay informed of market trends and supply risks.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Provide regular reports to the Head of Supply Chain and internal stakeholders.
  • Track supplier KPIs, SLA performance, planning accuracy, and material availability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and planning.

About You – Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Buyer, Planner, or Supply Chain Coordinator role.
  • Strong analytical thinking with proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident working independently while contributing effectively to team objectives.
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
