We are partnering with a well-established organisation seeking an experienced Supply Chain Buyer Planner to join their centralised supply chain function. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, commercially minded professional who enjoys owning both procurement and planning activities, and who thrives in a fast-moving operational environment.
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely, cost-effective supply of materials and services across multiple locations. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible and influential position within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Inventory Management
- Take ownership of end-to-end planning activities within the supply chain function.
- Maintain accurate inventories to meet operational and project requirements.
- Review schedules, forecasts, and project commitments to plan material needs effectively.
- Monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishment, and prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Analyse planning data to identify improvements and enhance operational efficiency.
- Support financial planning and budgeting through accurate cost forecasting.
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Lead day-to-day purchasing activities for materials, equipment, and services.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, compare quotations, and secure best-value bids.
- Track requisitions, contracts, and order status to ensure timely fulfilment.
- Liaise with suppliers to confirm shipping details, manage lead times, and resolve delivery issues.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct performance reviews.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to support cost savings and strategic goals.
- Ensure procurement activities align with company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Stay informed of market trends and supply risks.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Provide regular reports to the Head of Supply Chain and internal stakeholders.
- Track supplier KPIs, SLA performance, planning accuracy, and material availability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and planning.
About You – Skills & Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in a Buyer, Planner, or Supply Chain Coordinator role.
- Strong analytical thinking with proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Commercially aware with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident working independently while contributing effectively to team objectives.
- Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
