Job offer description

You participate in research projects of intelligent and autonomous vehicle technology within the domains ‘Intelligent Driver & Traffic Systems’ and ‘Clean and Energy Efficient Vehicle’. You will convert project-(s) ideas/concepts into system requirements, system specifications and derive system architectures as well as provide the necessary support for the verification and the validation phases of the development process; play a key role in the definition and identification of various “vehicle, driver and environment” models needed for the control of a (semi)-autonomous vehicle; use the developed algorithms “and/or models” for analyzing the vehicle’s behaviour while interacting with its surroundings to design intelligent, adaptive, robust and fail safe controllers to efficiently and safely manoeuvre the vehicle in all possible operating conditions; validate the developed vehicle models and controllers in real-life test conditions; disseminate of the results in journals, conferences and seminars; build relationships with the key role players on an international level;

you need:

  • a Master's degree or PhD in Engineering (Automotive, Mechatronics, Control systems, signal processing, system engineering, ... ) with background and experience in vehicle dynamics and control and preferably combined with some system engineering experience and/or any relevant on the job experience;
  • A track record in research or relevant working experience in automotive industry is a plus;
  • Deep knowledge in vehicle dynamics control;
  • Experience in vehicle system modelling and simulation (SIL, HIL) and affinity with V-model conceptual design “in system engineering”
  • Experience with Matlab and Simulink, and possibly dSpace; knowledge of AUTOSAR is a plus
  • Project proposals writing skills is a plus.
